1 hurt in Albemarle Road crash

One person was injured early Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on Albemarle Road in east Charlotte, police say.

The collision was reported about 2 a.m. on the outbound side of Albemarle Road near Winterhaven Drive, between Independence Boulevard and Sharon Amity Road.

Police say a car collided with an SUV, and the force of the crash left the SUV on its side. The driver of the SUV was injured and taken to the hospital, police say.

The driver of the car told police that the SUV driver cut in front of him, according to WSOC-TV. Police said charges are pending in the case.
