Police: Felon brought gun into Charlotte airport

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a convicted felon carried a handgun into Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Wednesday.

According to arrest records, Claudie Allen Jacobs, 66, a contracted construction worker at the airport, carried a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun onto airport property.

Jacobs is charged with altering serial numbers, possession of a firearm on city property and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the incident.

His bonds total $5000.
