Saturdays schedule also will include the Sandy Feet 5K and Fun Run at 8 a.m., with proceeds benefiting the Habitat for Humanity organization in Matthews.
Festival hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
For motorists, BeachFest means Trade Street will be closed, between John and Main streets, from 5:30 p.m. Friday to midnight Saturday. McDowell Street also will be closed to through traffic. But motorists trying to reach the arts district and the Community Center can take Kent Street off East John Street, then follow Sadie Drive and go through the First Baptist Church of Matthews parking lot.
