Reporters and columnists predict the winner of this week’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club:
SCOTT FOWLER: Rickie Fowler. With his sartorial flair and the best last name in history, I think he’s definitely got back-to-back titles in him.
RON GREEN JR.: Lee Westwood. He’s played well in the past at Quail Hollow, and he’s coming off consecutive top-10 finishes, including a tie for eighth at the Masters. This is the perfect time and place for Westwood.
RON GREEN SR.: D.A. Points. He lost in a playoff here last year, is coming off a second-place finish in New Orleans and is using a putter that was made in the 1980s that he took out of his mom’s golf bag.
JONATHAN JONES: Angel Cabrera. I like the Masters runner-up this weekend even though he’s never won at Quail and missed the cut here last year.
DAVID SCOTT: Rory McIlroy: The tournament’s 2010 champion obviously knows his way around Quail Hollow. He’s still waiting for his first victory of this season, and this is the week.
TOM SORENSEN: The paper won’t let me pick John Daly. Phil Mickelson too predictable. So, Sergio Garcia – calm and cool Sunday – by two strokes.
