Three people are jailed following a high-speed chase in Burke County on Thursday afternoon.
Police say 29-year-old Donelle Nicholas Cuthbertson led law enforcement on a fast-paced chase down Interstate 40 and winding through Burke County back roads.
Cuthbertson fled from officers, who attempted to pull over the Honda Accord while following up on a tip of a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot.
Authorities say Cuthbertson led the pursuit at speeds in excess of 85 mph, all while carrying two passengers: 26-year-old Amber Denise Whisnant and 24-year-old Darius Connelly.
The chase came to an abrupt end when Cuthbertson's Honda wrecked on I-40.
According to authorities, cocaine and marijuana was found in the vehicle.
Cuthbertson, a convicted felon, is charged with aggravated felony speeding to allude, careless and reckless driving, speeding in excess of 85 mph in a 45 mph zone, passing on the double yellow line, stop sign violations and resisting and delaying an officer.
Whisnant and Connelly were both charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II for the drugs.
