Charlotte police detain three after I-85 chase

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have taken three men into custody after a chase that started on I-85 Friday morning ended in a northwest Charlotte neighborhood.

According to police, a female caller dialed 911 and said someone inside a vehicle was shooting at her while on I-85. Officers located the suspect vehicle, which refused to stop, and followed it to Rayon Street and Tennessee Avenue, near Brookshire Boulevard.

Officials said two suspects remained in the vehicle while a third fled the scene. A K-9 unit responded and found the suspect at a home on Rayon Street a short time later.

The identities of the three suspects and possible charges have not yet been released.
