More Information

Police continued to search on Thursday for the person who stabbed a man in the throat during a robbery on North Tryon Street in Charlotte on Wednesday night.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after the stabbing at Ashby Street near the rail road tracks around 9:20 p.m.

Police have not released the name of the victim, but said Wednesday morning that he is expected to survive.

Officers have not released a name or description of the suspect, or said if the victim has been able to identify the person who robbed and stabbed him.

Investigators had shut down North Tryon late Wednesday as they searched for suspects, but the road was open on Thursday morning.

Investigators encourage anyone with information on the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 704-3346-1600. Tipsters are eligible for a reward for information that leads to an arrest.
