Motorcycle and SUV collision slows traffic at Pressley Road

A motorcycle and SUV collision at Pressley Road and S. Tryon Street near I-77 has sent one patient to Carolinas Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries. Medic responded to the scene around 7:30 a.m. and congestion there and around the area continues to build.

Speeds are slow on I-485 Inner between N.C. 16 and Pineville-Matthews Road, as well as on I-77 North near I-485. An accident has also been reported on the I-485 Outer Loop North between N. Tryon Street and I-85.

On smaller roads, accidents have been reported at West Boulevard and Steele Creek Road, as well as at Rea Road and Bevington Place.

Delays are expected in a few areas due to lane closures, particularly on I-85 North between Mallard Creek Church Road and I-485.

There’s also one lane closed on West Boulevard between Billy Graham Parkway and Old Steele Creek Road to allow for work on the railroad bridge.

A portion of South Mint Street between Martin Luther King Boulevard and W. 4th Street is expected to be closed at least till May 24 due to stormwater construction.
