Red Cross: Kevin Durant donates $1 million to disaster relief

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has donated $1 million toward disaster relief following Monday's deadly tornado that ripped through the city and its suburbs.

The American Red Cross of Oklahoma tweeted news of the donation early Tuesday afternoon.

"@KDTrey5 steps forward and gives $1mil matching gift to the ARC for disaster relief, text "REDCROSS" to 90999 for a $10 donation," reads the tweet from @RedCrossOKC.

On Monday, Durant posted messages of support on the social media service to victims of the tornados that have hit Oklahoma in recent days. "Praying for the victims of the Tornadoes in OKC these last few days," states one tweet "Everybody stay safe!."
