Charlotte DMV office closes after customer’s death

The Division of Motor Vehicle’s driver license office in east Charlotte was closed for the day Wednesday after a customer’s death at the facility.

The DMV says a customer died of “an apparent medical issue” at the office on Executive Circle. That is off Albemarle Road.

DMV officials say they do not know the cause of death, and the name of the victim has been withheld until relatives can be contacted. The office will reopen for business at 8 a.m. Thursday, officials say.
