Police seek SW Charlotte robbery suspect

Charlotte-Mecklenburg robbery detectives are asking the public’s help in finding a man suspected of being involved in an armed robbery last week in the southwest side of the city.

According to police, the victim was approached by an armed man shortly after 1 a.m. last Wednesday, near the 7900 block of Shady Oak Trail. That is near the Sharon Lakes community, east of South Boulevard.

Police say the suspect demanded the victim’s purse and ran off. Investigators on Monday released photos of the man they say might be the suspect in the case.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 20 years old, with medium skin tone. He is 5 feet 9 and weighs 130 pounds. He was wearing a green basketball jersey and blue jeans.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Crime Stoppers tip line, 704-334-1600, or check http://charlottecrimestoppers.com.
