Iredell man charged with assaulting woman, 4-year-old

STATESVILLE -- An Iredell County man is jailed without bond after he allegedly assaulted a woman and a 4-year-old child last week, the sheriff’s office says.

Frank Gordon Errichetto, 59, has been charged with assault on a female; assault on a child under 12 years of age; and assault inflicting serious injury while a minor is present.

The sheriff’s office says a woman called 911 on the night of May 20 and reported she had been beaten. The woman identified Errichetto as the suspect, but deputies say he had left the residence by the time they arrived.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Sean Schutt met with the woman the next day, after she had been treated for her injuries, and reported that the victim said a 4-year-old had been in the house at the time of the alleged assault. The child also had been assaulted, the woman told Schutt.

Errichetto was arrested May 21. He is being held without bond because the charges involve alleged domestic violence, the sheriff’s office says.

Errichetto also was served with a domestic violence protection order, authorities say.
