The day we got engaged, a family friend offered to officiate our wedding for us. At the time, we laughed a little, as we were overwhelmed with the love and congratulations we were receiving. However, once we actually thought about it, we realized that we were actually smitten with the idea of having someone who knows us personally standing there with us. Were so thankful for Gerald, his sweet offer, and to be able to have him as such a big part of our day.
Then, one of my very best friends made in grad school, offered to have someone from his DJing business DJ at our wedding. Anyone who has planned a wedding knows this is a huge expense, so theres literally no way I could ever thank him enough but we are over-the-moon happy with his generous offer.
My friend and bridesmaid, Michelle, immediately offered to let us use many of the items she used at her wedding last August so that we didnt have to spend money on the same stuff, like chalkboards and buckets. We absolutely ADORED Michelle and her husbands cute rustic chic wedding, so I am thankful to be able to incorporate some parts of that fabulous style into our big day.
The best man has offered to make some of our mini-desserts that we plan on serving. If youre attending the wedding and know anything about Logan, your stomach probably just growled. Shes an award-winning cupcake maker, and although shes not making cupcakes for our big day, shes got a pretty refined palette that is sure to make sure we have the sweetest treats to serve. Also, shes making her brothers FAVORITE dessert, so obviously it will be a winner.
You expect your family and on some level, your wedding party to help out (especially pitching in on the big day!), but to see how many other people are going out of their way to make sure we have the most wonderful day of our lives is so heartwarming. Throughout our entire engagement, we have felt surrounded by so much love. We are constantly being reminded by how lucky we are to have incredible families and friends to share in our big day!
