Multiple-vehicle accident in Charlotte sends 8 to hospitals

The accident was in the 400 block of East Sugar Creek Road.

An accident involving multiple vehicles in the 400 block of East Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte sent eight people to the hospital Saturday night with injuries described as not life-threatening.

Medic said it was treating eight patients at about 9:15 p.m.

One person was being taken to CMC-University, the other seven to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, according to Medic.

Information was not immediately available about the number of vehicles involved in the accident or the cause.
