WOODLEAF -- A 20-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested Wednesday after Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies searched a residence during an investigation into a jewelry theft.
Arrested in the case were Joseph Andrew Lleras and Amber Deanna Wheeler.
Lleras is charged with felony breaking, entering and larceny; felony obtaining property by fraud; felony marijuana possession; and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Wheeler is charged with felony heroin possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities say that during an investigation into a residential burglary on Goodson Road, they found several pieces of jewelry stolen from the home at a precious metal dealer’s shop in Spencer. Investigators say they learned the jewelry had been sold to the dealer by Lleras.
During a search of Lleras’ residence on Potneck Road, they said they discovered Lleras was carrying several bags of marijuana.
