The winner: I wanted to draw back my curtains on our French door but I didn’t want to drill into the steel frame. So I came up with the perfect solution! I got a stick-on hook (the kind that can be removed easily), put it on sideways, and turned it into a tie-back.

Turn that glove inside out
When my right-hand kitchen glove wears out long before my left (about 99 percent of the time) I only replace the right glove with a new one, leaving me with a spare left one.
When the right one wears out AGAIN, I use the new left glove for my left hand, and flip the old left hand one inside out and make it a right-hand glove. I would buy twice as many glove sets without using this technique. Less plastic in the world is another benefit. Karen Webster, Concord
