Police in Hickory discovered a woman’s body under the bed of a room in a Motel 6, and they’re asking the public to be on the lookout for two people in a minivan who may know something about the death.
Police were called to the motel on Lenoir Rhyne Boulevard just before noon on Friday, said Deputy Chief Clyde Deal.
Under the bed, they found the body of the dead woman. Investigators aren’t sure how the woman died, and they had not identified her by Friday afternoon, Deal said.
They have identified a vehicle that may somehow be connected to the woman’s death. It’s a small minivan, a 1990 to 1996 Toyota Previa. The top of the van is white or cream-colored and the bottom is gray. It’s missing a hubcap on the right front wheel and is possibly occupied by a white man and a white woman.
Deal said it was hard to pinpoint when the woman died.
“We don’t know at what point these folks checked in,” he said. “We’d like to talk to the people in that van.”
Deal encouraged anyone with information on the death or the minivan to call Hickory Police at 828-328-5551.
