• Josh Thomas
Strengths: Strong jam technique at line of scrimmage; decent speed and above-average athleticism.
Weakness: A bit smallish at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds; more instinctive in man coverage than zone.
Stat: His 29 career pass breakups at the University of Buffalo were the fifth-most in school history.
• Josh Norman
Strengths: Natural coverage instincts and good size; confidence not an issue.
Weakness: Freelanced too much as a rookie rather than playing assignments; like Thomas, needs to improve zone coverage techniques.
Stat: His seven pass breakups last season were tied with Thomas for third on the team.
• Drayton Florence
Strengths: Experienced player who knows where to be in all coverages; comfortable inside or outside.
Weakness: At 32, not as fast or as nimble as early in career.
Stat: His 10 years of experience more than the service time of Thomas, Norman and James Dockery combined.
• Captain Munnerlyn
Strengths: Despite small stature, physical player who doesn't miss many tackles. Play-maker who returned two INTs for TDs in 2012, tying a team record.
Weakness: Often overmatched by bigger receivers in space.
Stat: According to Pro Football Focus, gave up a completion percentage of 53 percent in 2012 after allowing a 67 percent completion rate in 2011.
• D.J. Moore
Strengths: Has a knack for getting his hands on passes, with 10 INTs over his last three seasons in Chicago.
Weakness: Like Munnerlyn, finds himself in a lot of mismatches because of his size.
Stat: Picked off a Cam Newton pass and returned it 20 yards for a TD in Bears' win over Carolina in 2011.
• Charles Godfrey
Strengths: Plays fast and with high intensity; equally adept at playing the run near line of scrimmage or in coverage.
Weakness: Occasionally overruns plays because of his aggressiveness; surprisingly few takeaways considering his speed.
Stat: Godfrey combined for four INTs the past two seasons after a team-leading five in 2010.
• D.J. Campbell
Strengths: Tough, second-year player who is strong against run; played well as starter down the stretch in 2012.
Weakness: Average speed; needs to improve coverage and communication skills.
Stat: Was inactive for 10 of the first 11 games last season before Sherrod Martin was injured.
• Mike Mitchell
Strengths: Good size and speed; physical player who likes to hit and can be used in blitz packages.
Weakness: Needs to improve ball skills; looks more comfortable in the box than lined up deep.
Stat: Had just two INTs in 60 games with Oakland.
• Robert Lester
Strengths: Undrafted free agent has good size at 6-1 and 210 pounds; has long arms and is strong.
Weakness: Decent speed and quickness; plays high and stiff in backpedal.
Stat: Part of two national championship teams at Alabama.
