The schedule of graduation ceremonies for Charlotte-Mecklenburg high schools continues Monday, and the events could have an impact on traffic.
There are four commencement events scheduled at Bojangles Coliseum or Ovens Auditorium, with two more at Time Warner Cable Arena.
That means motorists on East Independence Boulevard or Monroe Road can expect increased traffic a half-hour before the start of events at Bojangles Coliseum and at the end of the ceremonies, which last about 90 minutes.
There also will be increased traffic in the uptown area before and after commencement ceremonies for Mallard Creek High, at 4 p.m.
The Monday schedule:
Bojangles Coliseum: Berry Academy, 8:30 a.m.; Hough, noon; Olympic, 3:30 p.m.
Ovens Auditorium: Marie G. Davis Leadership Academy, 10 a.m.
Time Warner Cable Arena: Mallard Creek, 4 p.m.; Myers Park, 7:30 p.m.
Rutherford County: Chase, 8 p.m. Steve Lyttle
