MECKLENBURG

Power outages: 6,425 (9 a.m.)

Hail reports: 1-inch hail on Lawyers Road, Mint Hill; Woodlawn Road, south Charlotte ... 3/4-inch hail on Nations Ford Road and Tyvola Road, southwest Charlotte.

Wind damage: Tree fell on Sedgefield Elementary School; trees down, Durham Lane; tree on a house, Morningside Drive; tree blocked Sam Newell Road.

CABARRUS

Power outages: 3,962 for Duke Energy (9 a.m.); 3,500 for Union Electric (9:30 a.m.).

Hail reports: 1 3/4-inch hail just south of Concord.

Wind damage: 61 mph wind gust in Harrisburg ... three houses and one car hit by falling trees in Concord ... tree fell on an apartment complex on Concord Parkway.

CALDWELL

Power outages: 220 (9 a.m.)

Lightning-caused fire: A mother and her three children escaped injury in a house fire on Hensley Green Lane; several family pets died in the blaze.

GASTON

Power outages: 2,110 (9 a.m.)

Hail reports: 7/8-inch hail on Southridge Parkway in Gastonia ... 1-inch hail on U.S. 321 at Radio Road ... 7/8-inch hail in Bessemer City.

Wind damage: Limbs and trees down on Carr Elementary School and on Trade Street in Dallas ... large tree snapped off and landed on fence in Autumn Acres, 4 miles east of Gastonia ... trees down on Lorey Farm Road, northwest of Dallas.

IREDELL

Power outages: 1,555 for Duke Energy (9 a.m.); 5,000 for EnergyUnited (7 a.m.).

Wind damage: Tree falls on I-40 west of Statesville, blocking traffic ... trees down, 4 miles southwest of Statesville; trees down, on Taylorsville Road east of Stony Point ... trees down on Hunter Pond Lane near Scotts.

MONTGOMERY

Power outages: unavailable.

Wind damage: Trees down, near Lake Tillery; trees down in Mount Gilead; tree fell on a house in Troy; trees down, N.C. 24/27.

American Red Cross opened emergency shelter at Page Road Elementary School in Troy.

RICHMOND

Power outages: unavailable.

Wind damage: Gusts of up to 55 mph reported ... numerous trees blown down, especially north of U.S. 74.

ROWAN

Power outages: 5,675 (9 a.m.)

Wind damage: Tree on a house on Parkview Circle, 1 mile north of Salisbury ... several trees down in Rockwell ... tree fell across Bear Poplar Road, near Cleveland.

STANLY

Power outages: 4,300 for Duke Energy (9 a.m.); 1,200 for Union Electric (as of 9:30 a.m.).

Wind damage: Trees down across the county, especially near Locust and Albemarle ... several trees fell on houses ... American Red Cross shelter opened at 7 a.m. Friday at Albemarle High School.

UNION

Power outages: 2,215 for Duke Energy (9 a.m.); 350 for Union Electric (9:30 a.m.).

Hail reports: 1 3/4-inch hail in Indian Trail, and near Unionville ... 1-inch hail in Stallings.

Wind damage: Several trees fell on houses in Unionville ... 50 mph wind gust measured near Unionville.
