When we started discussing whether or not we would utilize a wedding planner or coordinator for our wedding, I was somewhat opposed to the idea. However, after meeting with our caterer, florist and Creative Solutions, I had a revelation. I NEED someone to take the stress of the day off of me.The last thing I need to be worrying about is where people are and if the flowers have been delivered while Im getting ready. Thats why we chose to get a day-of coordinator. Neither of us wanted a planner. While we respect their profession, we both wanted our day to have touches of us in it and to be more hands-on with the planning. Also, were both extremely opinionated and already had a picture in our heads of what it would look like. Last Friday, I met with our coordinator for the first time after exchanging a dozen or so emails and compiling a spreadsheet with our vendor and wedding party information. I immediately felt comfortable and excited that she will be there to support us in August. I already feel relieved just based on our one (2 hour long) conversation. I know this eases my husband-to-bes mind too, because he knows how much I would worry if someone was running late or the set up wasnt just perfect. As we come up on our 2-months-til-the-big-day mark, we are tying up loose ends. One thing I am not worried about is the day of our wedding. I trust that Melanie will have everything under control. Ill have my hair and make-up done while she coordinates everything else. I am 100% happy with our decision to go with a day-of coordinator. While spending extra money wasnt exciting, it will be worth it to not have high blood pressure and cold sweats on the happiest day of my life. Thank you in advance, Melanie. Were so glad youre going to be with us on our big day!
