2 pedestrians injured after hit and run; police search for driver

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for the driver involved in a hit and run accident Friday night that left two pedestrians in the hospital.

One victim, a woman, is in critical condition, while the other, a man, is in stable condition at Carolinas Medical Center-Main, according to a release from the police department. Their names have not been released.

A few minutes after 10:30 p.m. Friday, the two pedestrians were walking in the road in the 6100 block of Reagan Drive, police said. They were struck by a metallic black car, which fled the scene after the crash.

Police said the car should have front end damage, and that it is missing the left side view mirror and front grille. The car should also have a damaged front headlight.

The car was last seen heading toward Sugar Creek Road on Reagan Drive about 10:36 p.m. Friday.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information about the incident call Detective Sammis at 704-336-8862 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
