One of my favourite hobbies is decorating. I could spend hours re-visioning our home and picking out new accents to decorate with. I am a little eclectic with all the pieces I buy, and combined with my husband’s style, you’d see a few different things when walking into our home. From retro video game and Disney décor, to memorabilia from our travels, our house is truly a hodge-podge of items. One common theme you might see is lovebirds and nests. I think of home as our own little nest and I play on that idea with the occasional bird themed item. If you like the lovebird idea as well, here are some pieces you’ll want to feather your nest with!

1. A personalized family sign

I love family signs and feel they are a perfect way to welcome others to your "nest." The above design, from It’s A Sign And Designs, is my favourite because of the two birds perched in a tree. However, if you like birdcages, you’re sure to love the shop’s birdcage design as well.

2. Decorative wall tree

This World Market tree, is actually a votive candleholder and would make a great accent on any wall. Whether it’s for over your couch, or a wall in the bedroom, it’s sure to create a romantic ambiance for your home.

3. Burlap bird table runner

The burlap table runner, from Custom Holly Davidson, features two lovebirds perched on a branch. It adds the perfect touch to a rustic dining room and will match brilliantly with these nest centerpieces from Country Door.

4. Jewelry stands

Lots of jewelry stands feature trees and birds, which makes organizing jewelry another way to include lovebirds in your decor. I particularly like this cream ring holder, from Target.

5. Nest pillow

The featured pillow cover will make a cozy addition to the hub of any nest. It’s a simple, yet beautiful design that will add a little something extra to your couch. To complete the lovebird feel, I recommend using two of the The Nest UK’s swallow designs as well.
