Gaston police probe storage break-ins

Gaston County police are seeking the public’s help in solving a series of break-ins and larcenies from residential outbuildings in the northern part of the county.

Police say 11 break-ins have been reported since May 1 in the area north of Stanley. The crimes typically take place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

According to police, the thieves have been prying locks off the buildings and taking a items such as chainsaws, weed trimmers, tillers, pressure washers, and leaf blowers.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Gaston County police at 704-866-3320, or leave information with Crime Stoppers, 704-861-8000.
