Uptown’s style scene recently got a handsome upgrade when men’s custom clothier Abbeydale moved from its appointment-only Plaza Midwood studio to a rustic-meets-industrial Fourth Street storefront. Haberdashery lovers can still find the line’s sleek bespoke looks in the new digs, but now there’s a new in-house line of ready-to-wear alongside edgy accessories (think skull cufflinks and beaded bracelets). “My mission is to help the guys in Charlotte dress better,” says owner David Watkins. “Hopefully the success of my store will encourage other small, creative businesses to settle in Charlotte.” www.houseofabbeydale.com
