First Team

100-meter dash: Breanna Lee, Butler, Sr. – Ran area-best 12.03 to win 4A Western Regional championship.

200-meter dash: Sabrina Moore, North Mecklenburg, Sr. – Texas Christian University signee ran an area-best 24.74 while finishing fourth at the 4A state meet.

400-meter dash: Reneazia Collins, Monroe, Jr. – The 1A state champion set a 1A state record with an Observer area-best 56.28, also earned co-MVP honors with Ellington.

800-meter run: Malia Ellington, Community School of Davidson, So. – First of three individual state championships, ran an area-best 2:15.90 at Providence Day meet.

1600-meter run: Malia Ellington, Community School of Davidson, So. – Set 1A state record (5:01.37), but also ran area-best 4:56.45 at Bojangles’ Apex Relays.

3200-meter run: Malia Ellington, Community School of Davidson, So. – Another state title, another Observer-area best with a 10:46.77 at Adidas Raleigh Relays.

100-meter hurdles: Anna Cockrell, Providence Day, Fr. – Personal-record and area-best 13.93 time easily won the NCISAA 3A state title.

300-meter hurdles: Anna Cockrell, Providence Day, Fr. – Coasted to another state title with a personal-best, Observer-best 43.12 to win the NCISAA 3A crown here, too.

4 X 100-meter relay: Butler (Lisa Peebles, Felicia McCarthy, Alexis Davis, Breanna Lee) – Bulldog quartet finished 3rd at state with area-best 47.85.

4 X 200-meter relay: Mallard Creek (Gabrielle Cunningham, Jodi-Ann McDonald, Mictasha Mickle, Justice Briscoe) – Mavericks’ relay ran Observer-area best 1:40.97 to finish 3rd at state.

4 X 400-meter relay: West Mecklenburg (Melanie Roach, Star’Asia Baskins, Marquisa Laughlin, Toni Thorn) – Hawks finished sixth at states with best time of 3:56.53.

4 X 800-meter relay: Providence (Bianca Bishop, Grace Sullivan, Kayla Glova, Gina Daniel) – Panthers’ quartet was fourthat states with area-best time of 9:19.77.

Long Jump: Lakanya Legette, Olympic, Sr. – Jumped area-best 18-6 to win 4A Western Regional title.

Triple Jump: Julisa Tindall, Northwestern, Sr. – S.C. AAAA runner-up with best 39-9.75.

High Jump: Julisa Tindall, Northwestern, Sr. – S.C. AAAA champion tied for area-best 5-6.

Pole Vault: Taylor Drummonds, Watauga, Sr. – Fourth at states to tie an area-best of 11-0.

Discus: India McWhorter, Alexander Central, Sr. – Appalachian State signee threw an area-best 138-2 at Appalachian State High School Invitational.

Shot Put: Khayla Dawson, Olympic, Fr. – Another impressive freshman with area-best 43-2.5 to win at Taco Bell Classic.

200-meter dash: Justice Briscoe, Mallard Creek, Sr., 25.09

400-meter dash: Jaleesa Smoot, Salisbury, So., 56.59

1,600-meter run: Emma Brown, Providence Day, So., 5:09.84

3200-meter run: Briana Bishop, Providence, So., 11:03.20

100-meter hurdles: Kayla Ruff, Hickory, So., 15.03

300-meter hurdles: Madison Fulford, Jay M. Robinson, Sr., 45.06

4 X 400-meter relay: Berry (Micalyne Zimmerman, Erica Williams, Sydney Jenkins, Tatiana Mills), 4:01.97

4 X 800-meter relay: Marvin Ridge (Alden Kessenich, Ailish Dwyer, Kacie Hicks, Delaney Dunkley), 9:38.02
