York County commuters should expect delays

Motorists heading uptown from York County should expect delays on Interstate 77 this morning, as the right two lanes are closed between Dave Lyle Boulevard and the Celanese Road interchange through July 8. The two left lanes will remain open.

The lane closures are due to construction on the northbound Interstate 77 bridge over Celanese Road near Rock Hill. Work began Monday evening.

John Huskins, the construction engineer in charge of the project, has told the Observer that crews will work around the clock and hope to finish the work by July 4, although they have until July 8 to finish.
