More tests needed before Mooresville teen’s autopsy is complete

MOORESVILLE An autopsy was conducted Monday on the body of Aaron Willis, 14, who was found dead Saturday on a trail behind Montebello Drive in the Morrison Plantation development.

Police said Tuesday that more testing is required, and a review is needed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh before results can be released. Police said they have no date for when the final autopsy report will be completed.

’Mooresville police Capt. Joseph Cooke has said the final report could take several months.

Cooke said the body had no obvious injuries, and it remains unclear how Aaron died.
