Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are trying to determine what led to a child nearly drowning in a south Charlotte pool Wednesday night.

Paramedics told WCNC, the Observer’s news partner, that the child suffered life-threatening injuries after being discovered floating in a pool on Alexander Martin Avenue, near Ardrey Kell and Rea Roads.

Police had not released an update on the child’s condition early Thursday or said if anyone would face charges in the case.
