Several area coaches were honored as some of the top 100 coaches in N.C. High School Athletic Association history.Stuart Allen (Myers Park, track), Zoe Bell (Providence/Ardrey Kell volleyball), Tom Knotts (Independence, football), Jim Oddo (Charlotte Catholic, football) and Gus Purcell (Myers Park, football) were named in the list of “100 To Remember: Coaches,” which was chosen by a committee of statewide school administrators, coaches and media as part of the NCHSAA’s centennial celebration.Bruce Hardin, the football coach at Providence Day, was also honored for his time at Marvin Ridge, Providence, Kannapolis Brown, West Charlotte and Harding.For a complete list of the 100 coaches, visit NCHSAA.org.
