Congratulations to Angelo A. Lorusso Jr., who on June 18 received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.The award, named after the founder of Lions Club International, “is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas. (The award is given for) exemplary service to his club and the community,” according to the Lions Club website. Gene Davis presented the award to Lorusso, 56. Davis is a longtime Lions Club member and also the person who brought Lorusso into the club.Lorusso, who lives in Davidson, joined the Cornelius-Lake Norman Lions Club in 2006. He has served as the club’s president for the past three years.Best of luck, JasonJason Jedlick, 30, has helped keep Cornelius residents healthy and fit. While living and working in Cornelius, Jedlick started Senior Fit Club, a fitness class for adults ages 55 and older. He also owned Muscles N Motion, putting his more than 12 years of fitness experience to work as a certified personal trainer. Jedlick, his wife and two sons have decided to move back to Florida. Jedlick will go back to school and become a physical therapist. His clients appreciated not only his expertise, but also his sense of humor and his respect for his clients as individuals.One of his younger clients said, “Jason’s training sneaks up on you. You think that you aren’t working hard, that you’re just having fun. But then you realize that you’re sweating and getting a great workout.” One of his older clients said, “I wake up in the morning and swing my legs out of bed without any aches. I can even touch my toes again. Without Jason’s guidance, I wouldn’t be able to do any of this.”
