Bear climbs tree in Lancaster County residential area

Authorities in Lancaster County, S.C., said a bear was spotted in a tree behind a home in Kershaw around 9:30 a.m.

The bear climbed a tree near a home on Sumter and Ashe streets before climbing down and running off in a wooded area.

Authorities are tracking the bear to make sure it does not wander back into residential areas. This is the third situation where a bear was spotted in the Charlotte area. Earlier this week a bear was spotted in Union County. Last weekend a bear was also spotted in the Concord area.

No word yet if this bear is the same one spotted earlier this week in Union County.
