ROCK HILL A masked gunman wearing all black and a Hollister Co. jacket with gloves held a Rock Hill hotel clerk at gunpoint before demanding all the money from the register Saturday, according to police.
Police were sent to the Quality Inn and Suites hotel at about 11 p.m. and spoke with a clerk, 25, who said a man wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a ski mask approached her at the front desk and brandished a small silver handgun, according to a Rock Hill police report. He told her to hand over all the money from the register.
The clerk complied, police said, and gave the robber $150, the report states. The gunman then left the lobby through the rear hallway.
The hotels night manager told police he walked into the hotel while the robbery was happening, the report states. He saw the man, but did not realize he was holding the clerk at gunpoint.
Surveillance video shows the man entering the hallway through the back parking lot, stand there for several moments and then approach the door, the report states. After taking the money, he fled through that same door and took a left on Riverview Road.
A K9 unit was unable to find him, the report states. The video shows him wearing a Hollister-brand jacket and gloves, the report states.
Police have very few leads and have not identified any suspects, said Rock Hill Police Executive Officer Mark Bollinger. An arrest, he said, is not imminent.
