Just in time for summer’s heat, Central Coffee has followed in the footsteps of indie coffee shops around the country and launched a cold brew. Crafted with a 14-hour cold press, the process creates a clean and crisp cup of joe. “Making it this way reduces the acidity of the coffee by 60 to 70 percent,” says owner Jimmy Kleto of the Joe Van Gogh Gautemalan blend. “It’s a very smooth tasting cup of coffee.” Offered in concentrate ($9.99) and ready-to-drink ($4.99) versions, coffee lovers can find the bottles at Central Coffee as well as local spots like NoDa’s Salud Beer Shop and Myers Park’s Laurel Market. www.facebook.com/CentralCoffeeCo
