Rock Hill cancels 'Red, White & Boom'

The City of Rock Hill announced Tuesday plans to cancel Red, White & Boom festivities due to the threat of inclement weather.

By 4 o'clock Tuesday, officials released the statement via Twitter stating that Wednesday's event has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather.

The patriotic celebration was set to kick off with a free concert by the Carolinas Wind Orchestra at 5:30, followed by the winner of the Battle of the Bands competition, Matt Tucker Band, then the band Rough Draft slated to wrap things up at 8:15 before fireworks boomed at 10 p.m.

According to the release, organizers expect to announce plans for the rescheduled event.
