Three shot in Grier Heights neighborhood

Three people were shot outside a home in the Grier Heights area Thursday night, one of them a man who suffered life threatening injuries, police said.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 3400 block of Oak Arbor Lane in the Grier Park Apartments just after 8:30 p.m. after reports of shots being fired into a crowd, officials said. The area is southeast of uptown.

Police say a man and a woman were grazed by bullets, and a second man was seriously wounded and transported to Carolinas Medical Center. The three were standing outside at the time of the shooting, officials said.

Investigators remained on the scene late Thursday, but had no information on suspects at the time.
