Pie FiveOpening this summer in Matthews Township Shopping Center is Pie Five Pizza Co., an interactive restaurant concept. Owned by Pizza Inn Holdings, the chain specializes in tailor-made pizzas that are prepped and cooked quickly. Diners first select their scratch-made crust from an assortment that includes gluten free, signature thin, pan and Italian herb. Next are the sauces with Alfredo, Tuscan marinara and Buffalo Ranch among the choices, followed by cheese. A large selection of meat and vegetable toppings, including marinated artichoke hearts, Italian sausage and jalapenos finish the custom pie off before it is cooked and delivered to the table in five minutes or less. Pie Five also offers specialty pizzas such as the Athenian pizza with Kalamata olives, sundried tomato puree, banana peppers, red onions, garlic; or Chicken Carbonara pizza with Alfredo sauce, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, provolone and mozzarella cheese (selections vary by location). Depending on location, build-your-own salads are also offered with a bed of romaine. For dessert, Pie Five offers a cookie pie in flavors that rotate daily.
