A 12-year-old boy has been grazed by a bullet during a drive-by shooting at Dillehay Courts apartments in north Charlotte.

Charlotte-Meckleburg police said the the boy, who has not been publicly identified, was not seriously injured. Police also said the youngster was not believed to be the intended target.

Lt. Norman Garnes said just before 1 p.m., a car pulled up to an apartment in the 2600 block of N. Pine Street and fired three shots. The 12-year-old was hit by a ricocheted bullet.

Police are still working to determine where the shooter was aiming. There was no description of vehicle available yet.

No windows or doors were shot through by the bullets that hit the brick apartment building, and no one else was hit by any stray bullets, said Garnes.
