Albemarle man faces meth charges

Albemarle police say they have arrested a man on charges of making methamphetamine at his home.

Lloyd David Springer, 46, was arrested Monday at his residence, in the 800 block of Hill Street, police say. He was charged with maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of using controlled substances and with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Springer is jailed under $100,000 bond and has a first court date of July 29.

According to police, detectives went to Springer’s home Monday and found substances used to make meth. Agents from the SBI helped Albemarle police with the clean-up process.
