Police: JCPenney employee stole more than $1,400 from register

Rock Hill police are investigating a JCPenney employee accused of stealing more than $1,400 in cash from the Dave Lyle Boulevard store, according to a police report.

No arrests have been made, the report states, but the store has given police surveillance video of the 24-year-old employee taking money from her register through several transactions.

Employees told officers that the cashier accused of theft performed cash refunds to herself for merchandise that was not returned, according to the report.
