More Information

Several people have been displaced after an morning fire on Holton Avenue, fire officials said.

The fire in the 2600 block of Holton Avenue was reported around 9:55 a.m., with heavy smoke showing. It took 27 firefighters about 31 minutes to extinguish it, Capt. Mark Basnight, a spokesman for the Charlotte Fire Department, said.

No injuries were reported but the occupants of the home were displaced.

Authorties believe the fire began in the kitchen and was accidental. There was an estimated $30,000 in damage, Basnight said.
