Jacqueline Baines Beems, former wife of professional wrestling figure Ric Flair, turned herself in to Mecklenburg County authorities Tuesday morning after a warrant had been issued for her.
Beems, 44, who was married to Flair for more than three years and was involved in two publicized altercations with the former wrestling champion, had been charged with making a harassing phone call, a misdemeanor. She arrived at the sheriffs office with her attorney.
The website TMZ.com reports that the charge dates back to last October, when Beems is accused of making a series of phone calls to Wendy Barlow Kidder, Flairs girlfriend.
Flair and Beems made news in February 2010 with one altercation at their home in south Charlotte. Then in June 2012, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report said the two were involved in another incident at their home.
Flair and Kidder recently were featured in the ABC-TV reality show Celebrity Wife Swap.
An attorney representing Beems could not be reached Tuesday.
