Charlotte-based Chiquita Brands International has named longtime executive of Archer Daniels Midland, the food processing conglomerate, to its board of directors, the company said Thursday.
Craig Huss, 61, has worked for ADM for more than 35 years. He is currently the company’s senior vice president and chief risk officer.
“We are confident that Craig’s extensive and diverse industry experience, coupled with his perspective on strategic planning, will be valuable to our board as we strengthen our commitment to Chiquita’s core business and drive value creation on behalf of our shareholders,” said Chiquita chairwoman Kerrii Anderson, in a statement.
Decatur, Ill.-based ADM produces a wide variety of food products and animal feeds, including oils, soy and corn products, sweeteners and flours.
The addition of Huss brings the board to eight directors, including chief executive Ed Lonergan.
