Two arrested in gasoline theft

By Neil Haggerty

Two men have been charged with stealing more than 100 gallons gasoline from a N&K quick stop in Shelby and police are searching for a third suspect, according to WCNC, the Observer’s news partner.

Brandon Littlejohn, 23, and Brandon Walker, 19, have been charged with the theft and for contributing to the delinquency of a minor who was with them at the time. David Michael Vogen, 30, is another suspect who the police are still looking for, according to WCNC.

Cleveland County police say that the men parked a Cadillac sedan over the pump for a fuel reservoir, which stores several thousand gallons of gasoline underground at the quick stop.

Police say the men connected the fuel pump to a hose, where they siphoned gasoline into a 50-gallon drum placed in the middle of the car where the back seat should be.

Police say they think the men were selling the gasoline for profit.
