Your Monday morning traffic report

By Elisabeth Arriero

Two accidents have slowed down commuters in south Charlotte.

One happened just before 7:30 at Idlewild Road and Highway 51. Another happened about 15 minutes later at Carmel Road and Quail Hollow Road.

Meanwhile, traffic is heavily backed up on the I-485 inner loop near Rea Road, with traffic crawling at just under 20 mph.

Traffic is moving about 40 mph on some parts of Billy Graham Parkway North and is down to 30 mph on Providence Road near International Drive.

Meanwhile, a medical emergency has slightly blocked a lane on Sugar Creek Road at I-85. And traffic is building near Rea Road and Highway 51 because of ongoing road work.

Drivers also should expect to navigate a couple of roads that are closed for road work, including Gilead Road at McCoy Road in Huntersville, Gleneagles Road between Park Road and Quail Hollow Road in south Charlotte and Morningside Drive south of Commonwealth in east Charlotte.

Check back here for traffic updates throughout the morning in Charlotte.
