Union County extends CATS bus deal

Union County has extended its contract for another year with the Charlotte Area Transit System to continue providing weekday bus service to and from uptown Charlotte, county officials said Tuesday.

Union County will pay CATS $97,704 for the one-year deal.

The 74X bus makes three trips in the morning and three trips in the afternoon, stopping in Monroe, Indian Trail, the Charlotte Transportation Center, and College and 11th streets. The bus stops also at Fourth and McDowell streets in Charlotte in the afternoon.

The CATS bus service for Union County has been in place since 2008.
