Two boaters found a body floating in a creek off the Catawba River in Gaston County on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The victim was an adult male, Mount Holly police said, but authorities aren’t releasing the man’s name because they have not notified his family.

The body was spotted around 3 p.m.

It was transported to the Gaston Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
