The Towns of Cornelius and Huntersville are joining forces to several fall sports programs.• Noncontact co-ed NFL Youth Flag Football is for ages 4-14. Registration starts Aug. 1 and closes Aug. 22. Practices will be on weeknights and games are played on Saturdays. Practices and games begin in September. Participants receive a reversible NFL replica jersey and a trophy. • New this year, youth volleyball is for girls ages 9-18. The fall league will be an eight-game season. Games will be played on Saturdays. Also, girls ages 12-15 may try out for a competitive team. Register until Aug. 16. An information meeting for parents will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 15 at Lake Norman Charter Middle School. Skills Day will be Aug. 17 at Lake Norman Charter High School gym. • For boys ages 9-16, the Lake Norman Volleyball Club will lead free open gym days from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, Sept. 21-Nov. 9, at Bailey Road Recreation Center.
