Caldwell woman accused of stabbing cousin

A Caldwell County woman has been charged with stabbing her cousin, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Shirley Luann Abee, 48, of Lenoir, was arrested late Tuesday in connection with the incident, which left 40-year-old Dwayne Howard Abee of Connelly Springs with multiple stab wounds. Abee was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center and was in serious condition Wednesday.

Deputies say they were called shortly after 6:30 p.m. to a residence in the 4000 block of Stone Creek Court, where they found Abee wounded on the lawn.

Investigators have not said what might have led to the attack. Shirley Abee is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
