Assistance League of Charlotte awarded scholarships to 13 Charlotte-Mecklenburg high school seniors. Scholarships are based on community service, academic performance and financial need.
Keyonte Easter received a $10,000 scholarship given in memory of ALC member Tere Berigan. Keyonte has been very involved with his church, community and school organizations. He was an elite scholar and ambassador for the Young Black Men’s Leadership Alliance of Charlotte and maintained a 4.4 average at Hough High. He will attend East Carolina University this fall.
Other recipients: Casey Long, UNC Chapel Hill; Lauren Dillingham, UNC Greensboro; Tyra Trent, East Carolina University; Georgia Cameron, UNC Chapel Hill; Tavarius Felton, Ararat Mesfin and Jessica Zetino, Central Piedmont Community College.
Previous recipients Cameron Coughlin, Hayden Hoffler, Bernice Sem, Jasmine Otu and Kristopher Sandifer received additional scholarship funds for their continuing education.
